Welcome to our new blog

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to visit our new website. We’ve decided to make this more of a blog, so that we can share our thoughts and ideas directly with you. You can expect some issues related posts but you might also find some random posts about life in the 3rd ward of Hoboken.

I hope you’ve been having a good new year so far. I know the crazy weather has made for some trying times in our mile square city, and in the 3rd ward especially. This winter weather has put a strain on our city’s resources, but we’ve worked together with Mayor Zimmer and the members of her administration to get on top of the problems caused by the snow. Spring can’t come soon enough!

This is a special time for our family. My wife, Lisa, and I are expecting our first child. We are both filled with anticipation and great optimism. We’re preparing for our lives to change forever and the shared sense of responsibility has deepened our relationship. Needless to say, I’ve been thinking a lot about the future.

What kind of city do I want my child to see four years from now, or 10 years from now? I want to make sure that my child has 3rd ward parks to play in. I want to make sure that our streets are safe and clean, and that Hoboken always remains a town where people from all walks of life share a love for their city.

I’m available to talk about (and listen to) your concerns and ideas. Please call me at (201) 401-9687 or e-mail me at thirdwardcouncil@gmail.com. Let’s work together to make sure that decisions we make today we can all be proud of tomorrow.

Our child will be here soon. Here's a preview!

One Response to Welcome to our new blog

  1. Welcome to the blogosphere Mike Russo. Nothing can replace face to face meetings with the residents but with people’s busy lives a blog can be an outlet for people to exchange ideas about the City of Hoboken when they don’t have the time to meet face to face. It is a new reality.
